    Wheel/Tire Combo for min-tubbed spring relocated 66-70 B Body

    Hi Everyone,
I am a bit new here and kicking off the dust on a forlorn project in the garage. I have a '68 charger that will be mini-tubbed and springs relocated soon. Try as I may, I haven't had too much luck finding any info to this point, and my apologies if this has been discussed already. So my questions are regarding a 68-70 B body that has been min-tubbed with the spring relo kit, has anyone here done it? ...if so, what size wheels/tires are you running and how is it working?

    Any information is appreciated,

    JJ

Pretty sure you could fit a 345 on the back with those 2 things done. Ive seen plenty of Chargers run 14x32's with stock rails.

66 Belvedere II tubbed to frame rail. I have 15.5" to lip. Mine has a strengthening rib in outer wheel tub, so actual measurement is less. I think you will have more room on your Charger. I now have 295/50-15. Going to go with 315 or 335/30-18's.

Thanks for the info marblv2. I wonder how much clearance there would be the 335s with the strengthening rib. Is that rib homemade or stamped into the OWH?

66-67 have much smaller wheel wells than the 68-70, so they have different limitations.

My Bro has put 295s into the stock Charger wheel wells without mini-tubs or spring relocation. I don't recall how much extra space was up in there to accomodate sizes over 300, but with a mini-tub I'd bet 335 may be possible.

A little late to the party but I'm going with a 345 30 19. Minitub almost complete.

1st Gen Chargers are 14" lip to lip on average. Mini-tubs are not really feasible without other mods however, this is due to the location of the rear bucket seat bolting.
295 width tires drop in without issue...

No, I hope everything fits, lol.

I installed leaf spring sliders. Trying to get the shackles to work was gonna be as much of a job, so I figured I would go this route. Also installed my Tanks Inc. EFI tank.

I don't really post here much but getting it a little closer. 345s fit nice under there.
